April 30 to September 23, 1866. Clark records her voyage from England to Utah, including activities on the ship John Bright and on the pioneer trail in William Henry Chipman's company. Much of the account is devoted to activities such as cooking and recreation. She mentions a skirmish with the Indians and their encounter with soldiers as they passed through Laramie, Wyoming. Clark does discuss, with some melancholy, the death of her son Frank.. The journal ends on her arrival in Coalville, Utah.
