This chapter discusses the mission of Oliver Cowdery, Peter Whitmer, Jr., Parley P. Pratt, and Ziba Peterson to the Lamanites. Although they were successful in teaching and apparently convincing some of the Native Americans in Missouri of the Book of Mormon, the missionaries were ultimately unsuccessful in obtaining the necessary government permit to establish a mission to the Indians, and thus did not baptize a single Lamanite.
