This paper revisits the unanswered question about whether Joseph Smith had children by any of his plural wives. While various traditions, family and scholarly, claim that certain children born to Joseph's plural wives were in fact the Prophet's children, the authors conclude, based on DNA evidence tracing father-son relationships, that those claims are false. This article does not prove that Joseph Smith had no children with his plural wives, but rather dispells some of the most common speculations on the matter.
