The Deseret Hospital, dedicated on October 25, 2003, is an ancestor for each Latter-day Saint physician. It was rebuilt as a monument to the care, dedication, and selfless service rendered by Utah's early physicians. Unique in the United States at the time, the Deseret Hospital was staffed primarily by female physicians. The beautifully replicated structure is a visible reminder that above all, medicine is a calling which requires a tender, human touch.
