Raish compiled this bibliography to "identify accounts of the Hill Cumorah that go beyond Joseph's basic account." Excerpts from his findings are printed in the article and include detailed descriptions of the hill, and poetic accounts and/or emotional responses to the area and the events that occurred on the hillside. Most of these writings were done prior to 1945, but Raish also includes short references to more recent writings and scholarly studies regarding the Hill Cumorah.
