This writing will attempt to review those socio-religious conditions prevailing on the frontier that gave rise to Mormon and Indian Revivalism. Meighnan and Riddell list some seven common conditions that may be present which give rise to Revivalistic movements. These "conditions" have been observed to have been present in revivalistic movements throughout the world as well as having relevance to both the Mormon and Ghost Dance Religion.
