July 5,1852 to July 27, 1852, October 2, 1878 - June 30,1880. Findlay starts work in Poona, working initially with British soldiers, though gradually more with native Indians. He faces opposition from Roman Catholic and Anglican ministers as well as Hindus, when he organizes a branch in Poona, composed mostly of British converts. Brigadier Trydell, commander of the British garrison in Poona, restricts Findlay from entering the British camp. In 1878, Findlay departs Logan, Utah for Scotland. He boards the Wyoming in New York City and arrives at Liverpool, England. He visits his sister and other family in Glasgow, Scotland. Findlay travels extensively across Scotland regulating the church. He preaches in the Orkney Islands and publishes various tracts, then returns to the mainland, where he continues working and writes several articles for the Millennial Star.
