This article discusses revisionist history and warns of the dangers of reinterpreting or accepting reinterpretations of accepted church history. It is possible to jeapodize a reader's faith or bring into question the integrity of historical tradition as shown by the example of what has been called the 'Mormon myth,' or the idea that Christ was not a real person at all. Such revisionist accounts, the author maintains, can easily be confused with doctrine, especially when proposed by established Mormon scholars.
