This essay describes the changes in the Mormon landscape over the twentieth century. It concludes that as Mormonism spreads worldwide, temples and churches provide a visual indication of the Church's presence. As Utah becomes more Americanized, it loses its once distinct landscape and begins to look more like the rest of the nation.
