This paper 'examines contentment in the experience of women in the Church from 1970 to the present. I present a multiplicity of Mormon women's voices to validate their experiences. These voices are not monolithic, though they share many characteristics. Their experience is varied--many times even opposite--yet they all claim a connection to the Church. . . .The purpose of this undertaking is not to defend nor to condemn the patriarchal structure of the Church but to examine lived religion and experience. Due to the limited scope of this paper, my primary purpose is descriptive in nature. The paper should be considered as an introduction to the lived experience of LDS women through their own words.'
