John Corrill, an early Mormon convert (1838), never strayed far from his primitive roots, and thus, was unable for long to follow the 'new' ways of Joseph Smith. Like many dissenters, he accused Smith of grasping for monarchial power and disapproved of measures taken against fellow dissenters.
