Samuel Woolley Taylor's life is profiled. To understand this maverick Mormon author, it is necessary to look at his history. His grandfather, John Taylor, was third president of the Church and deeply involved with the principle of plural marriage, as was his father, John W. Taylor. Because his father was unwilling to abide by the Manifesto, he became an excommunicated apostle. His public disgrace permanently affected his family.
