The art and architecture of the Hawaii Temple at Laie endows this small structure with 'an aura of dignity and grandeur that transcends its modest dimensions.' The story of the temple's art and architectural creations are fascinating. The architectural firm of Pope and Burton designed first the Alberta Temple and then the Hawaii Temple in the architectural style pioneered by Frank Lloyd Wright. Sculptures were done by brothers Avard and Leo Fairbanks with the assistance of Torlief Knaphus. Murals were painted by Lewis Ramsey and LeConte Stewart.
