Mormons have enjoyed a gradual shift in public opinion and regard in Wisconsin. In the 19th-century, Mormonism was generally held in low regard in the state. Much of the change in public opinion about Mormons has come in the 20th-century as Mormons have attended or become respected faculty members at the various universities in the state.
