May 6, 1834 to June 12, 1834. Fordham discusses the trek of the second group of Mormons who set out for Zion's Camp from Pontiac, Michigan. Fordham details the mundane activities of the group, such as weather and trail conditions, sicknesses, and minor disputes. Fordham notes that they named locations as they passed by them with meanings specific to their current circumstances, with names such as Ezengeber when they were 'blest of the Lord with much instruction and the Holy Spirit.
