In 1848, 1800 male Church members signed a petition requesting that a post office be located in Kanesville, Iowa. The authors have recreated this petition, checking the names found in the Journal History against the original document and against other sources in order to use 'the most correct rendering of each name.' Photographs of some of the petitioners are also included.
