The growth of the Church happens one convert at a time as the Spirit touches hearts and changes lives. Conversion is not a one-time occurrence, however, but a life-long process. After baptism, members must continue to nurture testimonies through fasting, prayer, scripture reading and other spiritual exercises. Doing these things will further qualify them to be instruments in the hands of the Lord to spread His work and bring others to the truth. Grover relates the conversion and pioneering experiences of several Latin American members to emphasize the principle that while the Church may grow rapidly throughout the world, conversion nevertheless remains a deeply personal and individual matter.
