The purpose of this study is to examine the status of choral music in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints during the twentieth century. The work of one prominent LDS composer of choral music, Robert Cundick, will be closely examined with particular emphasis placed on his oratorio, The Redeemer, subtitled A Sacred Service.
