Sunday school is common practice for modern members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, attending classes every Sunday as part of their religious services. Little known, though, is the man behind these classes, Richard Ballantyne. Richard was a Mormon pioneer and missionary and alter became founder of the Sunday School program in 1849 in Salt Lake City, which was later adopted as a Church wide program in 1967.
