Abstract

Purdy discusses aspects of music among the Mormons, describing the musical education available and many of the early Mormon educators and teachers. He also mentions the contributions of the bands and orchestras, especially as they relate to the theater. Purdy also describes many of the early Mormon songs and hymns.
