A history of Holbrook, Arizona, and its surrounding areas. The area was originally settled by Native Americans; Spanish missionaries and conquistadores came later, followed by Anglo-Americans, of which the most important group were Latter-day Saint settlers. Holbrook was a cattle town and hotbed of banditry, one of the first permanent towns built in northern Arizona.
