The Elinor Remick Warren Society. “Elinor Remick Warren.” http://www.elinorremickwarren.com/ (accessed 25 July 2018).
-
To pay tribute to the American composer Elinor Remick Warren (1900-1991). This site is also used to record various projects accomplished by the Elinor Remick Warren Society (ERW Society). Great resource for those wishing to know more about the composer, her works, or the Centenary Celebration that was held in her honor in 2000.
-
Includes compositions written from 1916-1990 with a couple of sets published posthumously in 2000. The discography includes recordings from 1923-2009; six entries are from noncommercial cassettes from Elinor’s private collection. Reviews quoted from range from 1924-1991.

The homepage gives brief overviews about Elinor and the ERW Society. The Catalog begins with an introductory page defining the categories of compositions and keys to annotations, terms, sigla, and National Union Catalogue Designations. Pieces are organized by ensemble. Within each category, the works are listed alphabetically. Each entry includes the following information, where applicable: title, sacred/secular piece, recording available, author of the text, publisher, commission, source of funding, date of publication or completion, copyright, premiere performance, key, parts for choral works, accompaniment, instrumentation, solo parts, narrator, location of various copies, timing, dedication, and prize awarded. The recordings in the discography are organized alphabetically by album title or title of the work, depending on the entry. Additional information includes type of recording, date, performers, record labels, titles of individual works, and liner notes. The next tab leads to the schedule of events from the Elinor Remick Warren Centenary Celebration in March 2000. The reviews in the following tab are not organized in a particular order. Each includes the title and date of the printed source, quotation, and author. The Audio/Video page contains links to recordings from five different albums or larger works. Most tracks have the option to listen via real audio streaming (which no longer works) or mp3 download. The Biography tab extends over several pages. The Bibliography page lists the primary and secondary sources from which information about the composer can be found. The secondary sources are formatted as a traditional bibliographic list, and they are divided by source (books/reference works and articles) and organized alphabetically. The next two tabs include a form to contact the ERW Society and a page with several annotated photos of Elinor. The Society then includes a Chronological Listing of Compositions, which are organized alphabetically by title within each year. Afterwards is small annotated bibliography of books about the composer. Two of these books are also found on the following “Publications” page. Here is found the contact information of Masters Music Publications, Inc., Carl Fischer, Inc., and Theodore Presser, as well as the compositions each company publishes. There are also links to their websites and/or email addresses for users to purchase or rent these works. The final two tabs on the site are dedicated to the ERW Society. First is a list of the publications, performances, recordings, and other projects funded by the society from 1996-2012. Secondly, there is an additional information page with their address, email, and brief essay about some of their major contributions.

Overall organization is very easy to follow. Catalogue includes a page with a useful key to abbreviations and annotations. The bibliography is quite extensive.
-
Site likely has not been updated recently (no copyright date to indicate). No link to return to the home page. The discography entries are a little confusing to understand, particularly because some appear to be listed by album title while others are listed by the title of the work. While the smaller bibliography of books is annotated, they are also listed in the complete bibliography. Two of these books are also unnecessarily found on the “Publications” page.
