Rare Music Editions; First Editions
This collection of over 200 early printed and manuscript scores represents the work of French composer and music publisher, Ignaz Pleyel (1757-1831). It consists primarily of keyboard and chamber music, including arrangements of large orchestral works, published within the composer's lifetime. This collection was assembled by Dr. Rita Benton, former Head of the Music Library at the University of Iowa and for whom the Music Library is named. (from the website)
