Includes lesson books, etudes, scale books, and books full of orchestral excerpts. This resource does not claim to be comprehensive, but does include all the books found by and available to the authorthose at the BYU library.

Grouped in five sections as follows: Lesson Books, Melodic Etudes, Technical Etudes, Scales, and Excerpts. Under each heading there are a variety of books found by the author, grouped into beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels. Each has a short description and review. At the end of the bibliography are found lists of classic oboe methods, helps for teachers, series of books, compilations/collections, pedagogical duets and trios, twentieth century music/extended techniques, and an index of oboe method books. Annotations include information about the fingering charts in the method books and what kinds of excepts are found in them. Each entry contains complete bibliographic information.
