Joseph H. Jackson describes at great length his “adventures” among the Mormons at Nauvoo. He reveals the atrocious practices of the Mormons and Joseph Smith in particular, including plans to assassinate Governor Boggs, the iniquities of the “spiritual wife” system, and the association of the Mormons with the Indians. Jackson states that he has also given a full disclosure of “the depths of Mormon villainy” to Governor Ford. Source: Weekly herald vol. 9 no. 36
