This is a story told by my\rgrandfather's grandfather, which he has since passed on to his children and grandchildren.

My grandpa used to tell us stories all the time when we were children about his grandparents. In this case I asked him to retell me and my grandmother some of those stories while we were eating dinner.

Oregon is "miserable" (according to my grandfather) during the rainy season. The people living in tents would have been constantly wet and muddy, and it would have been difficult for them to find much work.
