Latter Day Saint
-
This\rstory was told to Jon in Bucharest, Romania while he was serving a mission for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The woman that told this to him would be someone that he trusted and respected. It makes sense that she told this story as they all were living in a foreign city, dealing with pick-pockets and other generally strange scenarios.
-
This took place in a small apartment in NYC, then in the crowded metro system and on the busy stairs exiting the metro to the street.
-
This is a story that would likely be told amongst friends or colleagues around a dinner table or another time that conversation is able to flow. It may be more relevant to a younger person or someone living in a big city, that is worried about A) not having a car/easy transportation and B) having their belongings stolen from them on transportation. It does show a general distrust of the people you may be\rsurrounded by in large cities.

I first head this story from my boyfriend a while back and asked him to retell it as I recorded it on my phone, I then transcribed it and edited out a few tangents or repetitive elements.
