Austin was born and raised primarily in the Idaho Falls, ID area. Both sets of grandparents are from the Victor and Driggs areas of Idaho. One of his great-grandfathers homesteaded some land in the Driggs area. He was raised on and around a farm all his life. He is LDS, but his family did not regularly attend church growing up. He served a mission in the Everett and Seattle Washington mission. He attends university at Utah Valley University. He plans to major in business, hospitality management.

This quilt was given to Austin by his Nonny (grandmother Yolanda Vallo). She made a crochet blanket for each of her grandchildren.
-
Don't know much about why Yolanda Vallo crocheted or where she learned it. She may have taught herself. She passed away in Fall 2008 so I am\runable to interrogate further.

How: I collected this item by camera, taking a photo of the item. I asked Austin about his blanket and typed as he spoke in order to capture the words.\rHow: I collected this item by camera, taking a photo of the item. I asked Austin about his blanket and typed as he spoke in order to capture the words.\rAbout: "She made that because she wanted us to have them. She just wanted to make them for us. She liked doing it. She made one for me, for Dillon, for Jeremy, for Payden. I don't know if she made one for Jake's daughter, but I think she did. I got that in 2008, or 2007, pretty sure it was 2008. In the spring [age 15 or 16]."
