It was a small-scale cousin reunion. We were in Joanna's living room and had just finished a kung-foo adventure movie. There were four people present – myself, Joanna, her husband Randee and our cousin Kyle. Kyle and Joanna were crocheting and Randee had just finished some math-intensive homework and needed a break. The room was draped with curtains and extremely cozy. Everyone had eaten a bowl or soup, some chips, and salsa. The tea was steeping on the counter. It was later in the evening.

Cultural Data: We cousins meet together every month or so to stay close. Our mothers are all sisters (there were seven daughters in the family and one son). Usually, we have five or six cousins/slash family friends at the get-togethers, plus their spouses/significant others and infants. This was an unusually small group.
