Adam was serving as an LDS missionary when this experience occurred.
-
After a meeting at work, I asked my coworkers if they had heard any interesting stories involving missionaries. I work at the MTC (missionary training center), so I was sure some people there would have heard these kinds of stories. Adam sent me this story later on in an email because he remembered I had asked for stories like this.
-
Church missionaries often go door to door trying to share their beliefs with others. Sister missionaries are pairs of young women who work together in missionary work. The term companion refers to the person you are paired with to do missionary work.

Adam sent me an email with this story in it after I asked a group of coworkers if they had any stories. It is copied directly from the email he sent with a few grammatical edits.\r\rOne day my companion and a sister had a very serious conversation about elves. They were convinced that they are real. The sister told me that her granddaughter was playing in a bedroom in their house. Suddenly, a little dark hole opened in the corner, and some elves popped out. They whistled to the young girl, beckoning her to follow them into the little dark hole. She didn't. It seems that what is legend here, is real there. My companion then began to tell her that when he was a kid he saw an elf run down the stairs and into the kitchen. He also saw one in a picture he had taken in VeraCruz Mexico.
