Can There Be A Second Harvest? : Controlling the Costs of Latter-day Saint Membership in Europe
International Journal of Mormon Studies
Mauss discusses the difficulties of conversion and retention of new Latter-day Saint members in Western Europe. Mauss explains some of the major deterrents of increasing membership in these countries, with the main deterrent being the secular, non-religious nature of Western European states. He notes that this secular nature creates social costs for members of the Church in Western European countries.
